    How I Work

I use an integrative approach, combining evidence-based practices like DBT and CBT with culturally responsive, person-centered care. I meet you where you are—and we move from there.

  • Growing up in McClellanville, SC, I was deeply influenced by my family's resilience and the rich tapestry of our Geechie heritage. Advocating for my younger sister, who was born with cerebral palsy, ignited my passion for supporting others. This path led me to earn a Bachelor's in Experimental Psychology and African American Studies from the University of South Carolina, followed by a Master's in School Counseling and a Ph.D. in Counselor Supervision from the University of Memphis.

My professional journey has taken me from residential counseling to school systems, where I focused on creating equitable practices and supporting the whole child. These experiences have shaped my holistic approach to therapy and consultation for teenagers and adults.

These songs reflect how I show up in the room: grounded, soulful, reflective, and real. Therapy deserves rhythm and resistance too.

Words I Hold Close:

“The storm didn’t make her stronger. She was strong before it ever came. What changed was her belief that she had to prove it.” – Unknown

Why this quote?

I believe therapy isn’t about becoming someone new—it’s about remembering who you were before the world told you to shrink. In our work together, we’ll unlearn survival patterns rooted in trauma, oppression, and over-functioning. You don’t have to prove your strength here. You get to rest in it.
